LOS ANGELES – A woman who claims she was sexually harassed then fired from the TV show "Lost" is suing ABC and actor Henry Ian Cusick.
The lawsuit filed Friday in Los Angeles alleges that Cusick, who plays Desmond Hume on the show, fondled the woman's buttocks and breasts and kissed her on the lips in October 2007. The lawsuit claims she reported the incident to her supervisor, but was simply told to avoid the actor. She states she was fired 12 days later in retaliation for reporting the alleged abuse.

Oh dear. Someone apparently missed that particular chapter in the employee handbook. That could be costly.

So he automatically did it because somebody said he did ? Good justice system you guys have got going on there.

Unless we're talking about the actress who plays Penny, what female character would be around Desmond for several episodes and then abruptly taken off the show? Or is it just supposed to be some random day player on the show he bumped into in the dressing room or something? EDIT: This would have been during the filming of Season Four.

Wow, I hope that turns out to be untrue. Henry Ian Cusick would certainly sink in my estimation.

I'm sure dozens of woman every month claim the actors from every show harassed them. Has Henry Ian Cusick shown that he has a history as a bad boy behind the camera before?

Wasn't he expelled from the RSAMD?

I am on Henry Ian Cusick's side. Even if he did do it, it's not a man's fault some women have such pinchable heinys.

Oh go on, Dead! Tee-hee! I'ts not a woman's fault if your groin is so kickable!

People automatically assuming a man accused of sexual harassment is guilty and jokes about kicking men in the genitals in the same thread. Somebody shout Bingo!

It's all fine, this is a discussion forum. We're all supposed to bring different notions and thoughts to the pot, whether they're right, wrong or stupid (mine).

It's cool. I knew (figured) you making a joke. And assumed the same was true with Beneldon - although, this is the first post of hers I've seen.

I like Hermiod, but I also know he has a sensitive spot in this area and I just wanted to point out both sides to him.

I could see that. My point is neither is okay. There's a whole thread on harassment over on Misc right now. We're all happy to discuss that and agree it's bad, but at the same time sometimes people need to be reminded that A) accusation does not equal proof (yet a few posters are acting like Cusick is going to be fired over this) and B) the disturbingly common jokes about men's genitals being kicked or otherwise injured shows a worrying level of ingrained misandry in our society.
