Haven't seen any of the promos...

I wonder who is the last recruit. Is that an addition to the list of candidates?

I think we will finally get the Jin - Sun meeting montage at the end of this ep. And then we go into a 2 week break before the final few eps.

Are we frelling there yet?!

Me : The Break is JUST to annoy all of us who watch this show.

Kids : Are we there yet ?

Dad : Don't make me turn this thread around kids.

Ever since they shortenened the episodes per seasons, promising they wouldn't have anymore breaks, I don't they've had a season where they've gone all the way thru uninterrupted

First off, fuck ABC for giving us a rerun next week.

Great episode! We get a long-anticipated answer about Jack's father and I like how everyone is coming together in the Sideways universe. Liked the two different Jack and Claire reunions and things are heading toward an end game in the main story.

Loved Sawyer's line "that pilot that looks like he walked out of a Burt Reynolds movie."

An Excellent! I can feel the pull to the finale on now:

Desmond? Alive or dead?

A Jack/MiB showdown?

A Widmore/Sawyer and co. showdown?

Who will survive?

As to the 'you speak to him' you're his...the only one who hasn't directly spoken to MiB is Jin...make of that you will ;)

2 weeks are going to be AGONY!

Lots happening, so that was good. Above Average.

- Who was "the last recruit"? Was the title in reference to Jack?

- I wonder what happened to Desmond. Him being dead is believable, but I think he still has more to do. Either he wasn't killed or something will reanimate him if he was.

- I can also believe that Sawyer and the gang will be killed. Not that they will be necessarily, but I can see it happening. Too bad if it does happen too. Sun and Jin just got back together.

- What did Sun remember when she saw Locke on the gurney? Alternate Locke in a near-death state?

Two weeks 'til we get more Lost. What I'm enjoying most right now is the fact that I have no idea how this thing will end.

Above Average. It was a good one. I like how Jack is now following in John Locke's (the original) footsteps. No way is he actually with the smoke monster.

From the live commentary thread...

Answer: Christian is Smokey too! :techman:
I thought he was lying.

And who told her Jack was her brother? I can't keep it all straight anymore.
Yeah, how did she know? Some of you suggested that either Jacob or the smoke monster told her. Is that what happened?

I like the Frank character but has there ever been such an example of picking up a paycheck for doing nothing than the actor playing Frank? He just lingers in the background, with about one or two cracks an episode.
Yeah, like I said before... They're not making good use of him this season. He's just there.

Alana was looking for Claire? What's up with that?
Clever misdirect. At first, it sounded like she knew something about the sideways universe.

No, I'm not going to the Island with you.
Speaking of the island, how big is it? It must be huge if the smaller one can accomodate a runway for a jetliner.

Does anyone else think that we just saw Jack die at the end of this episode? When Flocke says, "Now you're with me" I couldn't help but start to think...
I thought the same thing.

I was confused about Claire knowing Jack was her brother too. But it seems like The Smoke Monster knows everything John Locke knew, it even knew what Locke was thinking as Ben choked him to death. The Smoke Monster must also know everything Christian Shephard knew and told Claire sometime over the last 3 years.

Excellent. Possibly my favourite so far of the season - I can really feel the finale starting to loom now. And yet I have no idea how any of this is going to play out, in any time line.

This week truly felt like an ensemble piece though, and those are always my favourite.

While I was happy to finally see the Jin/Sun reunion, I was seriously afraid one/both of them was/were going to explode and die given they reunited right at the sonic fence.

Yeah, I was like "they can't ruin this moment that way" and, thankfully, they didn't. Then they fucked with us a second later! Had the timing down perfectly. Damnit, is Widmore one of the good guys or not? Actually, who are the goddamned good guys? They're making a halfway decent case for Locke at the moment.

Anyway, I gave the episode an excellent. I'm not entirely sure it deserves it, but the ending was really cool (the double ending, actually). I liked the continuation of the sideways to the point where people are almost together and I really liked Jack's leap of faith. So little time and so much left. I'm curious to see where they go from here because I don't have the foggiest idea.

Oh, my only real problem with this episode was Desmond in the well. Last week made it look like the well was practically bottomless and there was no way he could survive. This week he was barely 10 feet down, if that. Definitely took my head out of that scene and laughed for a minute.
