How many episodes are left after this one?
5 one hour episodes and the 2 hour series finale (so 7 total).

What stinks is there is no Lost episode on April 27th :(

Kristen from E! Online described tonight's episode as "mushy-gushy". If the term mushy-gushy doesn't get you excited about a Lost episode, then I don't know what does.

The thing that I'll be most interested in finding out is this - Is the package-Desmond somebody who's coming over from the flash-sideways world? Or is it somebody who's somehow coming from the Lost-timeline? Or a bit of both?

I think this will help answer some of the flash-sideways related questions.

Are we frelling there yet?

Desmond is Desmond....

I know that doesn't answer your question, but at the same time it does answer your question, temporal mechanics you know is hard to explain in simple terminology....

I do think Desmond will be the key to the sideways 'verse in the way being who he is, is who he is, again hard to explain in simple terms, he can be there in the sideways 'verse and the standard 'verse at the same time.....

My head hurts trying to put this in a way for others to follow without getting all technical about it.....

If you recall the episode "The flashes before your eyes" I think that Desmond will be used in the same fashion to 'link' the two 'verses together in a way no other flash-sideways could, or would, or will, or has, verbs are hard to use when dealing with space-time logistics.....

Anyway that's what I think they'll do as they have told us that the 2 'verses will link up, what better way then to let Desmond be the key to how they'll link the 2 together.....

Of course, by the time I see the episode start to end, I'll possibly be proven wrong as the writers like to toy with us a lot, don't they ?

That would be cool. A Desmond who flashes to the flash-sideways universe. That means it's the Desmond whose backstory the Losties know that is coming to the island. But he will somehow be able to visualize the flash-sideways universe and see what happens to Desmond in the other universe.

Reason I am still following this is because of one theory that we came up with on the other thread about how the flash-sideways is actually an epilogue (the end after the end to the series - showcasing what will happen to each of the Losties in the new universe after whatever happens in the series finale). The other theory (that recently came to the fore is that the flash-sideways is the universe that'll result if MiB or whatever evil in the bottle escapes from the cork.

There is a good chance that we will get good pointers to what is happening in the flash-sideways. However if they choose to do away with the flash-sideways in this episode (second ep after Ab Aeterno) that will be interesting too.

Wonder if we see Faraday anytime soon.

After thinking about it awhile the following has very many meanings....

" See ya' in another life Brotha' "

* Okay, I need to lay down, my head is swimming a lot *

It's on now (halfway through) and it's great so far, as a Desmond centric should be!

Easily an excellent :techman:

Theories of the sideways universe are no more, we know what it is now :techman:

Holy crap! Awesome!!

Without giving too much away, why do episodes around Locke, Desmond and Ben always lead the list as best episodes ever? Besides the acting (especially O'Quinn and Emerson), those are the ones tied closest to the island mythology.

This one had me on the edge of my seat throughout.

Excellent

I'm still not exactly sure what it is. Did I miss something? Please enlighten me :)
Yeah I think Trippy might be jumping the gun a little. We know more but not everything.

I dunno, I think it was a pretty clear theory that two characters had. I'll be more specific after everyone else watches the ep. It is my orginal theory (if you can find that thread), but backwards.

Just saw it. It's very much like "Flashes Before Your Eyes".
Let's see...

1) Desmond gets electrocuted.

2) Desmond remembers another life.

3) Ms. Hawking knows something about it.

Yep, it's "Flashes..." all over again.

We didn't get solid answers, but it was a fun ride and a nice little reuinion of old characters. Excellent. Why not.

Two more observations...

- Lost's credits seem to ruin surprises.

- Widmore is ruthless the way he treats Desmond, but is good at seeming like he isn't.
