I think Hurly's comment towards the end of the episode shows that. Jack's not supposed to raise him. I don't think Kate is either, it has to be Claire, who is still alive somewhere on the island.

I assumed that the Oceanic 6 were covering things up for the wrong reasons, mainly because of Jack and Hurley's guilt. I can't wait to find out the whole story. Less than a month to go.
Emh was right when he said that Lost was poor. Average. Good stuff between Charlotte and Jin. Hopefully this week (next week for me), will be better.
I wonder if the island itself burried Karl and Rousoe?
They werent very far from the surface, it could be one of the stages of how the island replicates people.
The people are absorbed into the island, then the island can remake the people with the black smoke.
Of course this theory falls down when you consider the open pit with the Dharma people in it, and the various other dead people our heroes have come accross.
Of course it could be the island only does this for people it considers worthy.
