The cue is called "First Goner" composed by Alexander Courge, it was his score from "The Man Trap" redone for the third season library tracks. Still not sure about the cymbal crash though.

I'm just off out, but it's every time Losira appears. It's the opening 'crash' before the woman singing. The box set has the re-recorded singing cue from The Man Trap, but not the shortened version which has the abrupt opening.

Yep - it was the cymbal crash I was referring to.

You're the expert, that's for sure. It does sound like it's abbreviated a little bit, which supports your theory about a sting that they cut into. I love that cue but never really noticed the cymbal until now. I love this board.
