Losing the Peace Author Annotations

William Leisner

Scribbler
Rear Admiral
After months of intending to find a new place on the wide world of interwebs, following the death of AOL's web hosting service, I have finally gotten around to putting together and posting my author annotations for Losing the Peace.

So, whether you're curious about how many Minnesota references you missed, which mistakes in the book I accept blame for, or you simply think in-jokes are funnier when they are explained, click on over and check it out!

And I just finished reading the book today. Coincidence... or CONSPIRACY?

I like the references to The Final Reflection: so subtle not even I caught them!

p. 173: Schuster was the science officer on the Stargazer in The Buried Age. His first name, established here, is a nod to the author of that book.

So is his last name. Michael Schuster helped me a lot with the Stargazer portions of TBA and I named the character in his honor.

Thanks for the annotations, William. I loved all the little tidbits I picked up on when I read the book when it first came out, but now I realize just how much I really missed. Thanks for all the hard work :techman:.

Cool. It's been a while since I read the book so I don't know if I'll check them out right now, but it's nice to know they're there it I want to.

Glad to see these. I love reading annotations. And there are now two fictional ships named Genesee that I know of. So I thought of the other one before the river.

Not in Star Trek. Two of Anne McCaffrey's novels, Damia's Children and Lyon's Pride, feature a starship named Genesee.
