Lookng for somew good books

Hi all, im new here. I've waced TOS, TNG, Enterprise, Voager and deep space 9 as well as most the mocies. I have been reading the books for a while now.

I'm looking for suggestions on what to read next. I prefer TNG era books but like the TOS books as well. Eventually i will move on to the oher series books.

So wha do you guys recommend from TOS or TNG? Below is a list of what i hae read so far. Thanks in advance!

Are there any particular types of stories you like best, or a particular character you want to read about? There are a lot of books, so it helps to have some more ideas of what you're looking for to make recommendations.
 
Im pretty easy. other than wanting to keep it around TNG/TOS for now. I wouldnt mind more stuff around picard or data. I like Spock as well. Is there much lit about his years after TOS?

Maybe Vulcans Forge and Vulcans Heart might be of interest.

The Buried Age for a book about Picard, I would guess.

If you are a Data fan then Immortal Coil by Jeffrey Lang is an absolute must read.
Some plot points from it were also followed up on in the Cold Equations trilogy, which I see you've already read.
Since my last post I thought of a couple series era TNG books I enjoyed.
Dark Mirror by Diane Duane - A TNG Mirror Universe story, this was written before DS9 went to the MU, so it's version of what happened after Mirror, Mirror is different from what we got onscreen.
Q-Squared by Peter David - Q, Trelane, and a couple different alternate universes.
 
The first few books of the Shatnerverse are all interesting reads. I'd stop at Preserver, but others might like the Captains trilogy he did afterwards. Admittedly, the book series starts strong and gets weaker as it goes on, but it's a fun "alternative history" read.
 
For TOS you might want to check out “Final Frontier” by Diane Carey. It’s a completely different story from the movie. It’s about Captain Robert April and his time as Enterprise Captain.

Also check out William Shatner’s Mirror Universe trilogy (Spectre, Dark Victory & Preserver). These three books combine elements of TOS, TNG, DS9 and Voyager.

As for TNG, “Capture The Flag” “Grounded” “Vendetta” & “Rogue Saucer” are good ones.
 
I always throw out a favorite of mine, an original series book called "Chain of Command" by Gene DeWeese. It's a favorite of mine about the Enterprise being thrown into a far away galaxy. They end up in a galaxy where war has raged for centuries. It starts off rather ominously with the Enterprise encountering world after world that has been destroyed in some fashion. Then they finally encounter some of the aliens that are still at war and Kirk and co. must find a way just to get the two sides talking to each other.

I loved the book because the Enterprise is truly alone. And it upholds some of the best ideals of Starfleet as Captain Kirk must use all his skills as a diplomat just to get the two sides talking.

It usually takes me about 2 to 3 weeks to read a novel, depending on my interest. I read this on in about 2 days.

It's a novel from the late 1980's so you'll probably either need to get an e-book version (if available) or a used copy if you don't already have one.

The Destiny trilogy was another favorite of mine but I see you read that already.

3 early hardcover books were good reads too, "Spock's World", "Prime Directive" and "Sarek"

Chain of Attack is actually the middle novel of an unofficial trilogy of sorts; the first one being "Lee Correy" 's (a pseudonym) The Abode of Life, and followed by Gene DeWeese's own The Final Nexus. All three are '80s-continuity books, but I re-read the entire sequence a couple years back and really enjoyed the whole storyline.

(Also, I received Chain of Attack as a gift from my now-deceased father back when I was in the fourth grade in February 1987, so it has some extra meaning to me on that front, too.)

Yeah, I recall it loosely follows "Abode of Life" with the method the Enterprise is sent to the faraway galaxy. And The Final Nexus is a more direct sequel.

Someday maybe I'll read the 3 in sequence.
 
@Strange Duck, have you read all of the TNG Relaunch or just the ones you listed?
Are you open to original book series or just ones based on the TV shows?
 
ive only read what was listed. I'm open to stuff other than the tv show based ones but not at this time. There are quite a few i wat to read based on the show first efore expanding into other areas.
 
Just curious, did you find the TNG books hard to follow without having read the ones that come before them? I've read them all, and I was curious what it was like to just jump into them like that.
