Looking for Par'Mach In All The Wrong Places

Sindatur

The Gray Owl Wizard
Admiral
So, Grilka's older Houseman ran Worf down, telling him he didn't stand a chance being of no House and having no Honor and accusing him of not knowing what to do with a Klingon Woman, anyways

During the episode, Worf admitted to having not pursued any Klingon Women before? What about Alexander's mother? Doesn't she count?

Klingon men don't pursue women, women pursue men. Then they hurl heavy objects. And claw at you.

K'Ehleyr was not a traditional Klingon woman. And Worf never courted her.

Actually, very little is known about their courtship, in cannon anyway. When she shows up in TNGs "Emissary" it's Obvious they have history, but they never go into detail. She was adamant about not following Klingon tradition, making the statement that Worf knows little of Klingon women accurate. Jadzia points this out again in "Let he..." Worf is really just a textbook Klingon. He has never spent much time with his people, what he knows he got from reading and studying. That's why he tends to be so idealistic about them.

I watched this the other night and loved it... because I confused it with the story from "Let He Who Is Without Sin" where Worf decides to be a dick on vacation.
Instead it's a lovely growth story for Worf and Quark both.
It was also great to see Worf court someone other than Kehyler, which was blink-and-you'll-miss-it.

I wish K'ehyler would have been in more than two damn episodes in TNG. I bet she could've been awesome in DS9 if she had lasted that long.

Agreed. One of the best secondary characters TNG had. But realistically what else could they have done with her at the end of Reunion? Stay on the Enterprise with Worf? Leave with Alexander and garnish Worf's wages for child support?

Thanks for the answers guys and I agree K'ehyler would've been awesome to have seen more of.

This. Liked Grilka because she had a K'ehyler vibe about her. Sassy.

Not really. Grilka had plenty of good qualities/moments but she was dwarfed by K'ehleyr, who was a far more intellectual, classier, amazonian (despite being half-human), voluptuous...the list goes on, but you get the idea.
