Looking for Oregon Trail series

All I can suggest is to try Youtube. If you can't find it there, I have no other ideas. But a lot of stuff winds up on Youtube eventually...

Hello I would love to play all the Oregon trail games does anyone know where I can find them for free?

¡¿YouTube?!

The actual way to find it is to use a search engine to search for "play oregon trail online".

But here...there's a bunch of different versions of the game on the Internet Archive (link).

The original game is ancient and easily available to play online. Classic Reload will let you indulge.

It was more recently re-released for other platforms. There is a mobile app, there was a Facebook game, and it was released for the Wii and 3ds. For a game created in the 1970s it's gotten quite a bit of mileage. I remember back in grade school playing it on the old Apple II's back in the late 80s. Of course dying from dysentery often.:lol:

And there's also this standalone portable game.

There's also a card game now too :D

You can find an emulator for the original Oregon Trail on archive.org. It's the 8 bit Apple 2 version, as far as i can tell.

As far as the later versions, sketchy. they can be hard to get running
caveat: I used to work at The Learning Co. when they owned MECC. I was one of the testers for OT3. While working in that I had access to the big tome for ot2 so if teachers called I could give them information on historical moments that they might be looking for like where to find Jim Bridger, etc. We were literally payed to play our products like the OT series, Reader Rabit, Yukon Trail etc so we could know them well enough to answer questions.

Oregon Trail 2 looks wierd now. It was dated even when it came out, but it has a fantastic amount of information packed into it. Some things they don't tell you when you start playing: if you try to take the Mormon Trail instead of going on the Oregon Trail, don't go before the actual date that the first groups left Nauvoo or you will get stuck in winter camp for months or years and you will die, slowly. I don't know of anywhere you can legally get Oregon Trail 2 or 3 (not a fan of 3, honestly. ) Hopefully one day it will show up on gog.

you can probably find them on myabandonware, but you may have to run them in compatibility mode.
