I posted this in the TNG forum, but someone suggested I move it here, so here goes. I once saw a picture of the TNG cast done up with uniform colors swapped so they matched the TOS color scheme, i.e. Picard and Riker in gold, Worf and Geordi in red, Data in blue. etc. It was a photo shop of one of the full cast portraits from one of the later seasons, like this one:

I always kinda liked it, but I can't find it anymore!! Does anyone have a link for me?

Look in the art forum here. I saw it maybe a year or so ago, and it was done by someone in that forum.

Check the photoshop thread. It will take you a while, but there's one somewhere.

I wish we could be of more help hobbomagic. But with over three million posts here, it is like looking for a needle in a haystack for something that specific.

But Finn gave some great advice. I would do a search for Photoshop threads and see what it turns up. You might want to try the Thread Bomb thread in MISC also. :bolian:

Good luck!

I forget - didn't they originally plan for the TNG uniforms to be colored the same way as TOS, but then one of the costume designers (or maybe it was the makeup people) who said that Patrick Stewart didn't look good in gold? This resulted in switching colors right before principal photography began on the pilot.

^ I thought it was Data in that story. Something about Spiner's gold make-up looking better with the mustard yellow. But to be honest I can't really remember now.

But whatever the reason they switched it I actually liked the maroon for command better anyway. Not only did the color draw the eye but it also helped to visually separate the Captains from the beige and grey of the Starfleet sets. The mustard tended to blend in with everything, especially on TNG.
