Logical inconsistencies within Star Trek episodes

Well, Odo isn't perfect. And Bashir could have intentionally been second best. Just like he always did, in darts, at the academy, etc...

Then, wouldn't the psychic Lethian have known he was Augmented and incorporated it into his emotional torture?

Also if he was pretending to be bad at the 'Turn the sphere into solid color' game in episode 2, wouldn't he have feigned being okay at it but not great, just good enough to impress Dax?

You could argue that Bashir was only able to resist that Lethian mindfuck because his brain was genetically enhanced.

Well, the reason he failed the concentration game was that he was too busy thinking about how insanely hot Jadzia was. Super-genius or not, if you're distracted you can't play the meditation sphere game thingy.

Ships, just build a cloning facility on a planet But I think we can take the comment about millions instantly as just an exaggeration.

The funny thing is, when you think about the absurdity of it, it's not really much of a threat in Jem Hadar hands, as far as sending troops through it.

The citadel that its housed in had really narrow hallways and the whiole structure was way too small to allow even 500 troops inside.

A founder could make good use of it, but sending dozens of soldiers with rifles on a planet like earth?

On trying to transport them through the gateway-- wouldn't that be like beaming into an separate, active transporter beam that's already beaming somewhere on it's own?

There would be some type of interference or incompatibilities--too dangerous I think.

If the gateway acts as a wormhole, it would connect the 2 areas of space directly. Thus the transporter could work as normal.

Possible, but even if they did solve that problem with a transporter, then it's right back at the 'many thousands of ships do they send carrying a million soldiers' -- and how to coordinate it so a million soldiers beam through the gateway all at the same time.

Too impractical, too illogical..

The greater risk than millions of troops is sending explosives through.

That would be the obvious choice--or send a Founder in. The soldiers pouring through the gateway idea is silly.

This is one logical inconsistency if i ever saw one.

This is what Weyoun said:

WEYOUN: That's very shortsighted of you, Captain. Think about it. If the Jem Hadar seize control of the Dominion, there'll be no stopping them. Even shutting down the wormhole won't protect the Alpha Quadrant.

With the Gateway, they could put a million Jem Hadar warriors on any Federation planet instantaneously.
This is the size of the gateway:

I would love to hear/read the explanation or see a demonstration on how this could be done

March 'em 3 abreast in rows a meter apart and the line will only be 333km long. do it continuously for 67 hours and you'll get a million through there... assuming everything goes perfectly, no one breaks stride or has to go to the potty. ;) One look at a freeway at rush hour will tell you this is not going to go well.

This is the answer, in part. And they wouldn't need to do it in 67 hours, although speed is important in something like this. What they need to do is not invade on any inhabited Federation world, but come to the AQ on some uninhabited worthless chunks of rock(s) in the alpha quadrant, then reorganize and stage an invasion from there. You'd want to move in secrecy as long as possible, of course. But you wouldn't have to worry about all kinds of supplies as long as you held the doorway.

I think we can put this down to Weyoun being a pretty lazy military thinker, and really the Vorta generally seem to be so. He thinks in terms of grand gestures and not what really needs to be done to destroy the enemy's warmaking capabilities. He was still half right, though. A secret buildup in the AQ through an Iconian doorway could be disastrous for the Feds.

Guys... just because they were guarding an original small size Iconian gateway doesn't mean they didn't try to build a bigger one.

One more for DS9. In Emissary, Curzon is alive but dying when Dax is transplanted into Jadzia. In Let He Who Is Without Sin, he died on Risa.

I think they meant that he was fatally poisoned on Risa and so the Symbiosis Commission brought him and Jadzia together in his final days.
