Fair enough.. If I were the crass sort, I'd even say THREE.. But I'm not, so I won't..

Eh I don't know. While perhaps Logan's Run is due for a proper retelling from the book instead of the horrendous tv series, I kind of like the original film just the way it is. It's tough to consider a remake of something that might need a remake on its own merits because there are so many dang reboots, redos, and updates anymore. If Michael York had some sort of cameo, showing that this is more homage rather than slice and dice to the original, I might watch.
I could not agree more! There was a second book, also very good, but the title escapes me at moment.
In the movie, they lived until 30; in the book it was 21
^Yeah, it's like the Steven Soderbergh take on things (when promoting Ocean's 11). Don't remake a classic, you'll never improve it. Remake an average or poor movie - that way, you stand a chance of making it better.
Buuuuuump - I haven't dabbled in this thread yet, but the news that Alex Garland (The Beach, 28 Days Later) may be writing it interests me.

Carl Rinsch is no longer attached to direct Logan’s Run.
EXCLUSIVE: Carl Rinsch No Longer Directing 'Logan's Run'Warner and producers Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman have a strong script by Alex Garland and are not inclined to wait for Rinsch to come back after he’s done with Ronin, thus Run now has a director vacancy sign lit outside its door.
Okay, is Ronin being remade too or is this something different? It's as if there isn't enough directors to go around for all these remakes!
