Locutus in Chain of Command

φ of π

Captain

How would Picard's interrogation at the hands of Gul Madred have gone if he drew more upon his (albeit brief) time as Locutus of Borg?

"Lights are irrelevant."

...So it would be a superpower akin to Frodo putting the Ring in his finger?

Perhaps if Picard let Locutus take over, he might sprout enough macroscopic nanotech to break free, and then assimilate Madred, the other Cardassians around, and ultimately the entire Cardassian Union...

Or then he'd remain as helpless as he was when held by the lab restraints on the E-D in "BoBW2", and Madred would quickly press his secret button and call in the make-disappear team.

Madred would just trigger his remote control and Picard pretence would give way to convulsions. I mean Picard was just about holding it together as it was, he wasn't going to try an impromptu method acting performance.

I don't think that ever crossed his mind. If you were to ask Picard what the worst experiences of his life were, I am quite certain that being assimilated by the Borg and being used to murder thousands easily ranks as number 1, without question. I'm sure nothing else even comes close, including his time with Madred. There is no way he would want to call up the Locutus persona to protect himself from one Cardassian. Thats just the way I see it. Picard has too much character to even think about doing something like that.

Pretty Gnarly remote huh.. Where did I read think it was somewhere here or mem alpha or fan dom that one comic series explored this very mix.. As said in other posts... Very hard hit episode (no pun) there are hawks and doves in this world.. This was an episode from hawks POV

But I bet Baran's pain implants felt like nothing after his experience with Madred.

(Baran squeezes buttons)
Henchman 1: AAAAHHHH!
Henchman 2: AHHHHHHHHH!
Riker: AAAUGUGHGHHH!
Picard: What's that weird tickling sensation?

Haha yeah.. An Picard references the episode in his supposed distaste for Riker.. Thats my major beef with this series... As prev said.. Why is it so easy to kidnap and.reimage Picard... It just makes no lick of sense... Seems very 80s/90s ish in that.. Nowadays you would expect a whole line of protocol to prevent Borg/Madred/Baran

The only way I could see Madred do this is to try convince him the Borg had attacked Earth again, and that he had to watch in the sidelines or something...provoke a reaction like he had in First Contact (the movie ofc).

When Picard was kidnapped he was off on his own in an attempted Mos Eisley duplicate trying to blend in. He would have intentionally forgone the usual security.

I guess in Chain of Command they should have seen through the trick a little more easily.

Now this is an interesting idea, if some of Locutus showed up in Picard as the series went on. It's not that kind of show (I'm even impressed they brought it up again from time to time like Family & the Drumhead) but man that idea could have spawned some great stories.

Satie: Have you fully recovered from your experience with the borg?
Picard: Yes, I have fully recovered. This trial is irrelevant, prepare to be assimilated

Sorry. Unfamiiar w Mos Eisley.. Google brings up Star Wars

Only way I couldve seen this pne work.. And yes ppl say im smartass yadda yadda is if he were tricked through some old friend like even w the archaeology references maybe even Professor Galen.. Wouldve made a better twist to yhe episode the chase.. Especially with the best line from the klingon guy at the end saying if she were not already dead he would kill her LOOOOOL and I also think if there were a tie in with the ladder episode with the Pegasus.. At least they wouldve had a cloak or something.. It just seems too on the fly.. In a rush to put Stewarts Warner in
