Live Messenger Problem

Hello all,

I recently installed Vista Ultimate onto my laptop and when I install live messenger it won't load. I have tried several different versions will limited luck.

When I install the latest version, it will load partly (its visible under task manager, but i cannot end it under task manager) Then every time i go to start it after that, it just adds another task that will not load.

Whenever I install an older version, messenger does load and when I go to login, it tells me that I need to download the newest version, which then does the above.

Any help??

A quick web search revealed that Live Messenger likes to run as administrator under Vista - have you tried that?

In every day and every way, I'm glad I don't use Vista! :D

I have tried setting it as an administrator and it will still not load, it will load into the task manager, but it will only load abour 3-4000k into memory and then go no farther, it won't bring up the login screen or anything, this is the most frustrated i've ever have been by a program

any help anybody??

Have you tried disabling UAC - that is supposed to be a catch-all for Vista.

It needs a new funny critical name, though we have to accept MS never specified the "Vista" everyone was looking out upon. It could be the view from the top of a mountain in Hell. ;)
