That doesn't mean it was wrong; it means that it wasn't in the spellchecker's dictionary. All spellcheckers are stupid. They don't know right from wrong, they just know what's in their very limited vocabularies. You're supposed to use your own judgment to determine whether a spellchecker's suggestions make sense or not, because they have no judgment or intelligence of their own.

^^Hey, at least most of us know better than to put blind faith in what a politician says. But far too many of us treat spellchecker suggestions as gospel, and the consequences to literate writing are devastating.
