If I were a betting man, I would bet that Matt Reeves directs 3. He is a Bad Robot guy, and one of JJs group of buddies. I wouldn't hate that decision. I thought he did a fine job with Let Me In.
I would love to see them bring in someone like Duncan Jones or Matthew Vaughn however. Or even Rain Johnson. They are all quality genre directors.

I would like it if Matt Reeves were to direct Trek III I like his work. He directed Cloverfield which I do like a lot.
They should just ask Shatner to direct it.
I have read the spoilers, and I have several questions. Will these questions be explored in the next film?
Now that Kirk has been injected with Khan's blood and tribble blood,
* Will he explore the ability to cure the sick and revive the dead with his blood? How will he cope spiritually and mentally with this new ability?

It is most likely that the Trek reset button will be pressed and we will never hear or speak of this again
