Hey guys,
Anyone got any personal recommendations on notebook computers? I'm travelling to the States, and thought I'd try taking advantage over the lower VAT rates to perhaps pick one up without having to sell internal organs to pay for it.
I'm going to be using it for my PhD, so I'm not going to need anything spectacularly powerful. Just enough RAM to run, say, OpenOffice and Chrome without it having a fit. Battery life is a bigger consideration. Also, the best ratio I can find of low weight to not-going-blind-trying-to-read-the-tiny-screen. And a decent wi-fi card, obviously.
And, am I right in thinking that most decent brand electronics will be compatible with 220v as well as 110v? Google says yes, but sometimes the internet lies.
