Like pancakes? How do you eat your pancakes?

I eat my pancakes very rarely (couple of times a year) and with diet syrup and healthier margarine.

makes sense. I'm very fond of crispily fried bacon-wrapped dates. With chicken and a tangy lemon sauce they are awesome.
Btw, over here someone invented brokkoli ice cream and garlic ice cream. Brrrrrrrrr *shakes* I prefer hazelnut.

Thanks Death of Rats!

For the rfirst cord, we ate the pancakes at Eggs N Things, but only saw the ones at MAC24--I took a pictures of those at another table! Some guys in their 20s, they couldn't finish theirs. In my 20s, I'm pretty sure I could've.

Thanks Death of Rats!
You're welcome =)
If you ever happen to be in Austria, PM me. My dad and I discovered a restaurant where they serve huge freshly baked waffles with cream and about 1 lbs of strawberries - definitely a serving for a 20 year old but if you skip breakfast you'll manage :D
Of course it's purely coincidential that we urgently need to drive to Austria during strawberry season every year *whistles innocently*

A big dollop of peanut butter in the batter. Served with butter and real Vermont maple syrup.

When I was in high school, I went on an exchange to Germany. I brought my host family a bottle of maple syrup to represent New England. The host mom looked at it quizzically and said, "Wir . . . trinken?" (miming drinking). Me: Nein, NEIN!!

I didn't trust my German enough to go to the store and find baking powder and make a batch of pancakes, but I did remember the word "Waffeln," so maybe they used it eventually.

Happy Birthday, bluedana! Here's a pancake-layercake for you:

Peanut butter in the batter is a great idea! I must try out if that works with our German pancakes as well. I love peanut butter =)

Wow, you really picked barbarians as a host family. I'm appaled by my fellow Germans. Fremdschämen, indeed.

I have had sugar cane cuban alcohol. Okay maybe that is rum? But it didn't taste like rum..

Anyway I'm thinking the maple tree needs to contribute to the booze of the world.

I love those, LOVE THOSE leaf shaped maple sugar things.

Is there maple syrup booze?

We make our pancakes from scratch, adding vanilla and sometimes maple to the batter. My son eats his plain. Hubs and my daughter add syrup. I like butter and syrup. If there are leftovers (a rare occurrence), I'll put jelly on one and eat it cold.

I have to scrub the kitchen afterwards, though, to eliminate the sweet odor. It lingers and becomes sickening. We don't eat pancakes too often.

Diet syrup and margarine are both wicked inventions, imo, and do not belong near my pancakes.

A pat of butter on each pancake and a moderate amount of syrup on top of the whole stack. If eating at a restaurant, I'll have bacon and hash browns on the side (both on a separate plate so syrup won't get on them).
