Lighthearted Confessions

When my daughter watches ICarly and Hannah Montana, I sit with a bored expression on my face, but secretly enjoy them.

I cried at the movie Casper the Friendly Ghost.

^^ I'm in the opposite boat. My daughter is 3, almost 4, but is into things like Dora, Diego, Franklin, etc. I feel like they're rotting my brain but I always feign interest and enjoyment. I think it's good to share things like that, common interests builds a connection. If you actually enjoy the shows, let your daughter know! One day you'll have fond memories of enjoying them together and it's good for the relationship.

Oh, and I loved Star Trek: Nemesis too.

[You, sir, go TOO FAR! Get out NOW. Go on, leave! - everyone on the TrekBBS, ever]

Not me! Confession, I liked Nemesis AND Insurrection.

I thought they could have made Insurrection better in two ways though: Explain that Worf is distraught over Jadzia's death and go more into the small scene where Picard can tell there's something wrong with the ship by the vibrations of the deck.

The latter scene showed that Picard had the ability the Bak'u had to be one with their environment, which would have paid off nicely when he "slows time" later in the movie. I've always thought the two parts were related, but the movie never develops that any further.

I liked Insurrection too. I remember when I first saw it commenting to myself "this would have made one hell of a great TV episode of TNG"...

Put me down as having a Nemesis guilty pleasure too. Oddly it was the fist DVD I bought as I was very unwilling to give up my massive VHS collection.

Confessions... last year I ranted at a promoter and told him I'd no longer do any comedy. A week later debuted in a comedy team hiding my face under a mask in case he recognised me.

And some of my most intense nose-to-nose sit talk in wrestling has really involved me telling jokes to make my opponents laugh.

I also used to play selected music to make sure my daughter wouldn't grow up liking Girls Aloud and similar types. She was headbanging by the time she turned one.

I gave myself a new middle name last year after a fan pestered me in Zaavi telling me he knew who I was behind the stage name and insisted my name was James. Some of my closest friends believe it to be my name as despite knowing them for six years - they have no idea what my name actually is.

I didn't love Nemesis, but I liked it all right; and Insurrection is topped only by Generations among the TNG movies.

I love Diagnosis Murder and cried at Robot Wars when the chap with Chaos 2 got beaten in the final and was so generous in defeat. Oh, and I spent my sons gift vouchers on a new handbag. It is a great bag thou:)

Bobby Darin is amazing, and I must say, I was quite impressed with Kevin Spacey's portrayal of him in the movie Beyond the Sea.

I really enjoy watching commercials on tv. I am fascinated by what some companies can come up with in terms of creativity and filming.

What? :shifty:

I watch porn.

We have that idiom around here: "first Saturday of the month" which means Canal + airs porn at midnight. I remember once, when I was 14, I prepared myself to watch a porn movie in my room. My parents were at the restaurant so everything was A-OK. But unfortunately I fell asleep like 30 minutes before the movie even began...
I remember words like "perv" or "naughty" but so faaaar away in the distance and especially looks in the morning the following day.

I have a "small" armada of game miniatures consisting of WW2 tanks, planes, soldiers but also mechs, dragons, knights, elves, monsters and stuff.

When I was in Jr. High, a girl that went to school with me would come over to my house and we would hang out. Frequently, this was in my bedroom with the door closed. My dad seemed to think, with an approving "wink and a nod" sort of attitude, that "touching" was going on - he gave me the whole spiel about protection and such shortly after she first started coming over.

I didn't have the heart to tell him we were just watching "The Patsy Cline Story" over and over, and playing video games.

You mean that's not normal?!

Re fond memories... My 16 yr old son with the obligatory pics of Marilyn Manson etc in his room emerged and asked did I still have the tape we used to play in 'Jean-luc' (my old car had the number plate HOM - french for man ie Picard:)). This was 8/9 years ago but he still remembers us rolling along singing Motown - 'the moment I wake up, just the two of us etc'. I nearly cried

I posted a thread about this in TV & Media a week or so ago. Good advertising is often exceptionally creative.

I used to love the infomercials they showed several years ago on New Zealand television. The ones with Kevin Trudeau were particularly hilarious. :guffaw: Still didn't shell out, though.
