Life-Size Shuttlecraft Help

Awesome video of fandom awesomeness :) :techman:

Hah thanks guys. Video making is frustrating to me as I have an idea or style in my head, but I don't have the software or knowlege to make the end result match. Good ole Windows Movie Maker to the rescue again! I still have to make a video on Prime, maybe something better will come from that.

Well done all around, Bradester! That really recaptured the feeling of watching your shuttle go up piece-by-piece back in 2009. What a great story you've got to share!

Tha was something else! The lengths to which you've gone to set up these displays! It's great to learn besides entertaining the kids, a lot of food was donated for the needy. Thanks for providing the credits. I wondered how you arranged that seamless debate between prime and a digital Megatron. At first I thought, "Clever splicing?" Nope...even more impressive, animated and voiced specifically for your show! (I checked out the ngsmoov link listed. I remember seeing the cereal commercial parodies some time ago.)

So, what's on the playlist for this year? Doctor Who? Maybe the half buried "cylinder" from War of the Worlds (complete with cephalopodic Martian)?

Sincerely,

Bill

Hi and thanks! There are no words to describe how much I appreciate the Megatron video by Dr. SMOOV and Randall Ng. That vid was the single thing that tied the whole event together and completed the interactive aspect of it. Kids would stay and wait for the video to repeat and even talk back to Megatron so you know they were emerged. Those guys were even cool enough to mix the video in stereo at my request, so with the speaker system I had setup in the yard the voices came from their respective characters!

This year? Why a Keaton Batmobile of course!

So what are you doing for Halloween this year?

[edit] I see you already mentioned the Batmobile. :alienblush:

For future projects, I would recommend looking into the thin metal electrical conduit. It's stronger than PVC, cuts easier if you get an inexpensive pipe cutter, can be bent into shapes with a bender, and is still only about $2 for ten feet.

I'm stilllllll hhheeerrreee! Just wanted to post that I am indeed building a Batmobile and guess what? It does contain left-over and reused Shuttle bits! Here is a pic that's a few days old. Progress is slow but steady!

That's going to be awesome! So, the car runs, right? :)

Thanks and yup! It has a good ole 305 V8. The Shuttle's windshield will be the Batmobile's back window, along with other bits that are in there kind of hidden at the point.

Batman: "Quick, Robin! To the 'bat tent'!"

Robin: "Holy campfire s'mores, Batman! Is that anything like a 'pup tent'?"

Uh, I'm gonna' get smacked now, aren't I? :wtf:

Sincerely,

Bill

Hehe. :)

I'm building a Dalek myself, this year... I'll have to post up some pics soon. :)

Can't wait to see the bat-mobile driving around the yard. :)
