Life-Size Shuttlecraft Help

Redid Prime's gun to make it wind friendly and lighter weight. Used rolled up "for sale" signs, left over foam, expanding spray foam and duct tape:

The toy design I based it off of:

And what I just made:

I think it's done!!!

Just to keep this a little more Trek, here is proof of the recycled shuttlecraft. This is the inside of Prime's chest:

I always knew Optimus Prime was a shuttlecraft. Wait, what?

I totally wish I had the money/space to build stuff like this, it's totally something I'd LOVE doing. I wonder if it's something people would pay me to do. :rommie:

All this is pretty cool...that Optimus is going to be neat, but...

As a long time Transfan, it makes me sad to say it, but Jetfire was THE ONLY cool part of that movie.

Well, let's not discuss the Bay movies :-) They are so full of plot holes and things that just don't make sense, I think it's best we not talk about them. While do I applaud Bay and the new movies for giving the franchise new life and attention, I do not approve personally now how it was done and the direction the timeline and characters went. Jetfire was cool, but how a 2000+ year old Autobot was able to hide in plain sight, especially as a *modern* vehicle that nobody noticed or explained how he got that way, AND with the ability to transport matter.. just bothers me.

Trying to rationalise what are essentially toy adverts will fry your heads. Dont worry about it, just relax and enjoy the ride. Not the Bay movies obviously, they sucked, just your animated toy ads.

Made a new gun and got it mounted with a finished right hand!:

Some more red, some yellow, silver and an Autobot emblem, and that left arm is done!

How about a little battle damage? Thats the fun part. All thats needed is the yellow detail between the wrist and elbow and the ever popular Autobot emblem for the front shoulder:

Good thing I saved all those shuttle bits!

Is there any specific Prime you're basing this off of, or is it just an average of all the G1 Primes out there? Do you have one toy or drawing you're using as the master reference? I ask because I'm wondering which details you're planning to use for his back....

Hmmm....I'm hoping to give him something like a "back pack", but I don't know how much detail will happen. It will depend on what kind of access I have once he is mounted to the pole that stands him. I'm pretty much taking my favorite parts of the Prime figures and statues that I've found, and making him my own. A good chunk of my inspiration comes from this though.
