Now is this something that can hold up long term in the rain? Any more thoughts on what will become of it after Halloween? I think it would be awesome to have a santa statue posed next to it. Maybe have him inside with Xmas dear figures like pulling it. Have presents spilling out the back.
I think it can handle the rain quite well. The rain water drains off the top of the shuttle and then runs between 2 layers of wall/hull down the sides, which keeps the interior nice and dry. BUT can it handle the heavy weight of Oregon snow come winter time? The sides, yes. The roof and wings, most likely not.
A neighbor guy suggested that we call The McMinnville Air and Space Museum which houses the actual Spruce Goose along with Titan rockets in their space museum, and see if they want the shuttle to display of how entertainment can influence real life technology. I told him that I didnt think the shuttle could really be moved even though the wings and engines come off, but then we started to talk of how if anybody can move the shuttle, that it would be the museum. It would be a fun thought to have my shuttle in a nice safe space museum, but I just cant believe that would happen.
So still my answer the what will happen to the shuttle after Halloween?: I don't really know. Ideas?
On another note, the interior walls and ceiling were completed tonight, so now the interior just needs spiffied up. The exterior just needs its stenciled letters to go on and attached the beacon lights, then its done. A guy tonight driving by almost wrecked his red van when he spotted the shuttle and Mystery Machine. Was kinda funny.
