The last picture does look better than the second one. For those who don't know the second picture is from "Ashes to Ashes"

Will be interesting to see how this show goes, and hopefully someone will screen it here sometime soon.

Oops. Didn't know there was a UK spinoff. My pics have been revised, so maybe you'll have to revise your post now. Sorry. :p

The UK spinoff is without Sam and Annie, and is set during the 1980's. And there is that brunette too. I've heard interesting things about it.

Dood! 2008 - 1973 = 35 not 25 ;)

I'm just curious to see where they went with the NYC reshoot. The new girl is very... blonde. :p

Ashes to Ashes is good. Not the perfection of Life on Mars, but it's good. The first US pilot was HORRIBLE beyond words. Will check out second pilot, not giving it much hope...

I'll give it a chance, but the first pilot they did was utter shite and they seem to have completely missed the point and the soul of the original.

I'd be very surprised if this "revised" version isn't a pile of shit aswell, Harvey Keitel notwithstanding. Hey, they still have Fatty McNocharisma (over)filling the shoes of John Simm, so it'll suck plain and simple.

My opinion is something like this.
At least Ashes to Ashes series 2 is filming now.

Probably late Jan. early Feb.

I really enjoyed Ashes to Ashes. It's not as good as Life on Mars (and sometimes it's just downright silly), but as a vehicle for Phil Glenister it's decent enough.

Will the US version have lines like:

She's as nervous as a very small nun at a penguin shoot

This case is going like a spastic in a magnet factory

Sam Tyler: This place is like Guantanamo Bay.
Gene Hunt: Keep off, it's nothing like Spain.

Sam Tyler: If it was to do with football, he'd have serious injuries.
Gene Hunt: He's dead. That's quite serious.

There will never be a woman prime minister as long as I have a hole in my arse.

Annie Cartwright: Boss, there's a viscous yellow liquid in his ear
Gene Hunt: No, that's a drip from my fried egg butty, love. Well done Miss Marple, that's why we need women detectives...

He's got fingers in more pies than a leper on a cookery course

No. Therefore, epic fail.

I have a lot of issues with Ashes to Ashes, most of all being Alex. It's hard to be sympathetic for a character when you want to strangle her every five minutes. But I kept watching because Phil Glenister was fantastic (and the rest of the cast was fun, too).

That being said, I probably won't be bothering with this remake. I'm only in this thread to see what others think of it.
