Sam goes undercover with a gang to investigate truck hijackings. Sam gets into fights with other gang members and goes to buy a truckload of stolen VCRs. He even is put in jail at the 1-2-5. How far will Sam go? What's causing his dark side to come out? Could it be his attraction to the gang leader's sister?

FYI, Jason O'Mara's real-life wife, Paige Turco (aka April O'Neill #2), is in this episode.
 
HOLY SHIT! Was NOT expecting that closing scene!

At least we know that 1) Ray lives, and 2) Jimmy McManus gets killed. Poor Chris...I hope he doesn't kick off. :eek:

This one was pretty good. Started out slow, I thought....but had some surprises later on that made it worth it...the largest one of which was the ending. Wow.

The ending almost had ME in tears.

I said it before, and I'll say it again: So much of this show consists of scenes *without Sam in them* so I'm having a hard time believing that this could all be a coma dream of his.
 
How many are left until the series is done? Two more? I'm really hoping they took the time to wrap it up, even if they steal the British ending.
 
^ The preview for next week said there were only two episodes left. I don't think they're going the British route. I think Sam will actually take Annie back with him.

And Chris can't be dead. He's the unseen old guy who as the file on Sam! :P

Sam was worried about screwing up his timeline by speaking to his younger self, but wouldn't telling him about a future babysitter raise question marks in young Sam when it comes true? Also in 10 years, Sam will be watching a movie where Luke Skywalker's dad is on the dark side but he can still sense some good in him. :)

Also, that was also Jason O'Mara's real accent. At least letting the actor use the real accent made sense here, as opposed to Bionic Woman where it was a plot point out of nowhere.

McManus made me think of The Usual Suspects, because the actor playing him played Redfoot, who was McManus' (Stephen Baldwin) contact. Maybe after McManus gets killed, Sam can say, "Zed's dead. Zed's dead."
 
Very surprised by the ending..and a bit sad since Ray's one of my fave characters. I'm not a big fight scene gal, but I took it with stride since it was apart of the episode. Loved the fact that he used his real accent, it went well with the character that he was portraying. Overall, a very good episode..just upsetting to realize that it ends to two weeks!! I've read that they are going to end it differently then the original, and I'm looking forward to that. Music was good..I have Jim Croce songs going thru my head as I type! An above average score from me this week.
 
Fantastic episode. That last scene completely knocked my breath out. I agree that somehow Sam will take Annie back with him in the end - it'll be fascinating to see how he does it! The ending is supposed to be very different from the BBC version, but I'm completely clueless as to how they're going to pull off any other explanation but the one the BBC version used. Only two weeks to find out...!

I agree, but at the same time it was difficult for me to imagine how they would stretch the premise out over a long run. I think perhaps it works best as a short run show.
 
It'd be ballsy if they tried to take the UK route and then switched setting/leads for the second season.

Of course, there's also the problem with US TV where you have to plan for a multiseason arc even if the show won't support it. Prison Break being the worst example.
 
I know nothing about the Brit version-and don't want to yet. I loved this episode and I'm happy they got enough warning to end the series intentionally instead of just cutting it off.
 
It's gonna be sad seeing LoM go. It finally found a magic combination of mystery, political incorrectness, and gallows humor, all set to a great soundtrack.
