Life Lesson 01: Don't leave body spray in your car.

And, if you look at the picture, the can didn't explode. The top nozzle part popped off, due to pressure. It didn't so much explode as open up. So poorly-made can + intense heat can indeed lead to a very messy car.

I'm pretty sure the can is designed to do that: not explode as much as explosively disassemble; the seal is designed to also function as a built in safety-valve.

Considering we're expecting temps in the 100s here this week, I imagine anything left exposed in a hot car can explode, melt, or you know, DIE.

Happened to my dad's laptop last summer: He'd left it in the car while it was on a train riding through France and Germany...

Note: I learned in 6th grade this also applies to white out.

One winter, I left my backpack in my mom's car. The white out froze, exploded and covered everything in my binder in a fine white powder.

That is all.

I think I got all of you beat though, I had this happen with a can of that liquid plastic you put in a tyre for a temporary puncture fix.

That stuff is really, really hard to clean up.

The larger lesson should have been to not be assuming that overdosing on body spray = taking a shower, but not leaving pressurized things in hot or cold environments is also ok.

BO is obviously bad, but the guy that overdoses on the BO/bodyspray combo isn't much better.

Surely that depends on the fragrance, as some can be more over powering than others.

Not sure there's really a scent of body spray that's more acceptable to bathe in than any other; all kinda equally bad. BO plus a shitload of essentially collogne over your entire body plus clothing is rarely pleasant...

the campus doesn't have any shower or changing facilities and I live across town, I have 2 hours between classes so I walk for an hour and a half, cool off somewhere and then go out to my car for a quick spray and some stick deodorant, better than nothing.

Yeah. And what kind of college has no shower or changing facility? They don't have a gym or workout facility? No sports? You don't have any friends on campus? If it was that bad, seems there should be lots of options.

Just didn't realize anyone over high school age actually used body spray.

Just reminds me of the stereotypical middle aged man who you joke took a [insert preferred ethnic group to mock] shower, just dumping WAY too much cologne over BO instead of showering...

there are two gyms on campus, one for physical therapy and one that you can only have access to through a class, it's a community college, doing 2 years there to get my associates and then transferring to UNM for my BSEE is gonna save me about $15,000

Invest in some unscented baby wipes. Far more effective when combined with a stick deodorant and a quick "hobo shower" wipedown in the bathroom.
