Life Choices......

K'riq Sa

Commodore
Life is always about choices. Good Bad, Love Hate, Happy Sad. Fortunatly for us most are left up to us to decide, that is what this thread is about. Choices are very personal and very specific as to how we will choose....

you make your choice between the given choices...

with all due respect, that looks like the choice between being a bad pack leader (dog) and being a moron by leaving a bucket of paint easily openable in the rec room (kids).

I'm fundamentally distractable. Every day I have to choose between my many interests - music, writing, work, politics, science, art, family, remodeling.

Personally, I boil life down to two options: 1 or 0? Yes or no...Do or Do not...and on with the cliches.

Either you're going to take an action or you're not. After you make the choice, there is no point in worrying about the paths not taken cause you can't undo your choice.

Life all boils down to "yes" or "no", all that makes it seem like it doesn't is the justificational hoops we jump through while trying to make the pick.

how do you know that the kids didn't run down to Home Depot with their parents credit card?.....

it could happen...

If they can get back and forth from Depot on their own, then it's time for them to get a place of their own. That's my theory ;)

ahhhh.... the venarable fall back position of the third choice, or plan c as we call it on our planet.....

Ah... pets or kids - I've already made my choice. It's one of the few in my life that I absolutely do not regret. (I chose kids ;) )

So, isn't this where you kick the thread off with your own? Ah, I see, it's more that you want to comment on others' choices.

I'm usually Chaotic Good on the first run, then try my best to turn Chaotic Evil after that.

So I'm a Fantasy RPG nerd. Sue me. :p

Re: DOGS OR KIDS......

Man, that paint issue is going to be a whole bag of ugly.

Rush lyric: If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.

And a lot of people have dog AND kids, like us.

As I've got older, one thing I finally realised is that choices aren't absolute, they are only for now. Tomorrow will be different, There might even be more italics...

Robert Frost said:
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
