Pre-Trek, I distinctly remember once being at a neighbor's house and playing with an old Enterprise toy that shot out plastic discs.

Now, I have this very dim memory that the large disk firing version was going to be made into a refit--as seen in ST:TMP.

The Nacelles were to be square--though nothing else changed.

I swear I saw that art--and no--I'm not talking about the tiny ERTL like die-casts.
