Liam Hemsworth as Kirk brother? Could that work?

While watching Cathing Fire, I realized that Liam Hemsworth and Chris Pine resemble eachother somewhat. And with Chris Hemsworth having played Kirk's father, I can't help but think that having Liam show up as Kirk's brother could really work.

In the deleted scenes for Star Trek 09, it was established that Kirk did have a brother, but since that scene was cut and the only appereance of that character was now a boy called Johnny, it's not canon.

What do you think? Could it work?

We don't need that scene, we already knew that Kirk had a brother (it was in TOS - "Operation: Annihilate").

And since Sam Kirk is older than Jim, Sam was already born when the timelines diverged, so - unless he's been killed off - alt-Sam must exist.

Liam Hemsworth is nearly a decade younger than Chris Pine, while Sam Kirk is the older of the two siblings.

It might be neat if Chris Hemsworth returned as Sam Kirk, though. Kinda like how the artist for the ST09/IDW adaptation of "Operation--Annihilate!" drew Sam to resemble the elder Hemsworth.

I think I would have preferred Chris Hemsworth over Chris Pine as Kirk.
Fire Pine, and then "re-imagine" Kirk with Hemsworth in the role.

.

While we're at it, make Kirk less of a whiny bitch. More first season Shatner like.

:)

Don't you people have any regard for canon? Sam Kirk must be played by Chris Pine with a fake moustache otherwise why is he even Sam Kirk?

It could have Shatner's cameo.

But that just raises the question why does the corpse of Sam Kirk Prime age?

As part of the cameo, he gets to tell us about how he didn't really die with Captain Baldy next to him, he just slipped into the Nexus again. But unfortunately, he got caught in Spock's warp vapor trail when Spock's weird-ass ship fell into the red matter hole. And so-- yeah, doesn't work.

^^Because of the canonical precedent established by TOS. Likewise, should they ever bring back the Romulan Commander from Balance of Terror, he should be played by Ben Cross.

And if Security Officer Giotto and Commodore Bob Wesley aren't played by the same actors, I'll just boycott all future Abrams productions.
