For the audience, the music swells, we see the ship go to warp and credits roll.

But back on the bridge, I can only imagine the helmsman rolling their eyes after hearing the send-off line of the week on every series of Trek and most of the movies :lol:
 
I often think about that when it comes to the big dramatic ad breaks. Someone says something and then everyone stands still and looks at each other for ten to fifteen seconds. :)
 
Was it one of the Star Wreck parody novels where they actually piped the music onto the bridge after one of these dramatic scenes?:lol:

And it's painfully evident when watching on a home video format with no commercials, as we fade back in to the exact same shot with everybody standing around waiting for somebody to say something else dramatic.

Yep! My favorite: the recap of The Best of Both Worlds, Part I ends with Riker saying, "Mr. Worf.... FIRE!"

Majel Barrett: "And now, the conclusion..."

Cut to black.

We fade back in, only to see Riker and Locutus staring awkwardly at each other across the viewscreen :lol:
