Let's predict The Doctor's Demise!

We know that Doctor #10 is on his way out and that something needs to happen to him in order to provoke a regeneration. Everyone is free to give their own prediction. Another topic of discussion is this: Do you think there could be hints in the series about how the Doctor will end up dying? RTD always says that he has these grand designs in his head so it might be possible that he's placed hints through out the series.

My prediction: The Doctor will die in a battle with an alien entity vastly more advanced than him. One of the things that Doctor Ten was always saying was that "I am the highest authority" so I figure his death will involve him being knocked off of that high horse.

I figure he'll be on some grand adventure that lasts his entire lifetime ending with a regeneration caused by death due to old age.

^ Similar prediction from me.

I don't know why, but I think they'll "fast-forward" through 10's life at the end of the last special and show him regenerate from an "old" man into a "younger" 11.

Maybe I just think that because we've seen DT in old age make-up as the doctor on two separate occasions in series 3.

^ that is something ive read alot of on other forums, and its actually something I like for this Doctor, and with the specials the way they are, its going to be easier to do that.

I wonder if they might start the last specail with the 11th Doctor looking back on his last few years as TEN.

Fast forwarding to the Doctor's death of natural aging works for a few reasons.

-It gets around his relationship with River Song. Assuming this isn't covered in any of the specials, we can just assume it occurred at a time not depicted.

-It leaves plenty of untouched time in which novel writers can freely give the Tenth Doctor their own adventures without worrying about where it fits in continuity and having to adhere to a point in the show's timeline that the events take place. I imagine it's a similar situation that has allowed the Eighth Doctor to have a healthy run in the novels. Though it could also stand in the way of any more novels featuring the Ninth Doctor.

-Just once, the Doctor should have a death under natural conditions. Such things do happen, you know.

Dying at or of old age would be very clever.

Sadly, I fear Dalek Attack 3001!: Battlefield Earth TM where the Doctor dies saving the entire universe is more likely.

What a cynical attitide you have. It's like you watched three of RTD's four finales.

The usual cliched demise

The doctor arrives on a planet, walks around and spots the future companion. They chitchat. Evil people lurk around in the back

The doctor and companion catch on to the bad guys plan. The doctor sacrifices himself to end whatever plan is being cooked up.

Doctor 10 carries the companion back to the tardis. He's exhausted. Final words by Tennant

"It was fun, well not fun, well not that great well.........

*jesus regeneration pose*

In "The Next Doctor," when he first meets the titular man, the Doctor tells him not to say why he regenerated, and then started rambling about how he hoped it wouldn't be something lame, like tripping over a brick.

As much as I like the idea of him sticking around a lot longer... I don't particularly want to see him as an old man either. I'd prefer to think of this Doctor as always being young and full of energy like we see him now.

Plus old age makeup always looks cheesy as hell to me.

My only other request is that his finale NOT include either Daleks or Cybermen. They can do whatever else they want (and make it as BIG as they want), but if I see either of those two again I'm going to hurt someone. lol

Well I feel stupid now, I completely forgot about that line in the Christmas special!

Does this Doctor seem like the sort of person who will stay out of trouble long enough to reach "old age"???

I don't think so.
