Let's make a Marvel movie timeline!

Based on the ages of the actors portraying Scott Summers at the time of the filming, the first "X-Men" movie takes place only three years after "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". So, the first "X-Men" movie is set in 1982 or something.

Which brings up an interesting point. How do people know that Spider-Man was "changed" and not born with the powers? I mean, maybe after time, he gave his story to a reporter, but when he first arrived on the scene? Wouldn't people automatically assume he was a mutant?

Well, Spidey is one of the more mistrusted superheroes out there. So maybe a lot of people suspect he is a mutant. I think I've read the occasional story where Jameson or someone intimated as much. Although I don't think JJJ approves of prejudice against mutants, so maybe it wasn't him.

I believe in the comics from time to time that there have been jokes that Spider-Man is a comic to which Peter normally dismisses it. Also there is the matter of his being on the new "X-Men" line up for their upcoming relaunch and vampire vs mutants story line and there was the April Fool's Joke a few years ago where he was joining the X-Men.

In the House of M universe, Spider-Man passed himself off as a mutant and became very successful and popular as a film actor and businessman as a result with his identity publicly known.

When it came out that he wasn't a mutant he was forced to fake his own death.
