...since the Moon exploded out of it's orbit, blasting the Meta Probe to pieces and wreaking havoc on Earth. A grim day indeed my friends.

Also, another reminder of how SF has let us all down terribly. I guess we should be grateful that lesser things happen to us, but I think we can be disappointed in a way nonetheless.
 
I was only thinking about Breakaway earlier today. 10 years ago it was a full eclipse here in our part of the world, followed by Breakaway and then the milennium. It all seemed so epoch-making at the time!
 
This kind of thing would have never happened on a SHADO controlled moonbase. Commander Ed Straker FTW!

It was intended as good natured ribbing. I even selected the right Gerry Anderson sibling of 1999 since the sets used for 1999 had been intended to be used for the next season of UFO. :)

I'm sure we can all agree that the world needs more Gerry Anderson. :)
