Not saying this is the case, but, in regards SFB, there are certain copyright restrictions and guidelines artists are to follow. Not that I know what those guidelines and restrictions are, mind you; I just know they don't have the entire Trek universe to play with.

Very cool art. As for the origins of the designs, it looks like the Swiften shown here is a TOS variant of Jackill's Swiften-class Fast Destroyer, later upgraded by Vance. The Klingon vessel looks like an Abramised version of one of Matt Jefferies' original D-7 sketches. Well done!
