Ok,

I'm already tired of people whining about lens flare. Reminds me of people complaining about Battlestar Galactica and it's terrific moving camera work, especially in the groundbreaking Zo!c SFX.
I LOVE the flare! This is all part of the incredible cinematography this fantastic new film has. Something a lot of films lack. Films like every other Star Trek. This is the very first time, thanks to the new clip featuring Scotty (the fantastic Simon Pegg), where I felt like I was watching two characters step onto the bridge of a starship... as opposed to two actors stepping onto a frakin' movie set.
Look, in the past there was a real flatness to film, and especially TV. A lot of this had to do with the video technology and then digital, which can flatten the feel of the picture. The flare effect is created digitally, I suspect, and I for one love it as it provides a more realistic feel, not to mention dynamic zip!

That is all.
