Leia Organa on Hoth

Her regular ride was being fixed, and then her driver decided he needed to go pay off a Hutt.
Hoth also seems like a relatively new base, or it took a while to get going seeing that the speeders were just being adapted to the cold, and the last of the sensors were being set up. That the droids melted her room with the heater is probably telling as well. (How will they dry out all those clothes?) Plus were not aware of the Wampas yet.
If you mean her task, if we assume she took over her father's position after his death, than she's the head of a group of Rebel cells and likely coordinating several efforts from a central base now that both the Senate and Alderaan are gone.

Rieekan is in charge of the base. Leia is in charge of more than just the base. It me like asking why is Mon Mothma at Yavin Four when General Dodonna is in charge there. Dodonna is in charge of the base, Mon Mothma is in charge of the Alliance. In the case of Hoth. Rieekan is in charge of the Base, and Leia is in charge of Rebel forces in her area of operations, much like her father was. Only she no longer can hide behind the Senate rules, so instead she has to operate out of someplace. Might as well be Hoth since that is where Luke and Han are as well. More than likely they are there because she is there.
Am I imagining things, or didn't we have this exact conversation just a few months ago? Leia was on Hoth because she was a senior Alliance leader, probably on the high council since the death of Bail and with her face on every wanted poster from the core to the outer rim, it's not as if it'd be safe for her to be on a civilised planet for any length of time (to say nothing of being safe for said civilised world.) And yes, she outranked Rieekan for the same reason Tarkin outranked General Motti: her position afforded her broader authority.

You may point it out as many times as you like sunshine, but that won't make it any less incorrect and irrelevant.
Leia WAS NOT a founding member of the Alliance. Her stepfather, Bail Organa, was. She merely assumed his position as one of the Alliance's leaders following his death in "A New Hope".
General Rieekan, on the other hand, was one of the founding members of the Alliance.
So once more, why was Leia on Hoth in the first place?

Why do you think she was there and what do you see her role as? Since you won't take our answers, you must have your own idea of what she is doing there, but are not sharing.
