Legends Star Trek One Off Art Challenge

I figured I'd start up an Art Challenge for all the awesome artist out there.
So basically just make your design however you see fit and then post it here for all to see.

The challenge for all those who dare to have a dabble is this:

Design An Iconian Battle Cruiser.

I of course will be designing one myself and posting it. I figured it might be fun to see what other could come up with.

:)

Spent this afternoon playing around with this as a possible BC, although it might be a better candidate as a slow warp ship for the Romulan exodus ;)

ATOLM Reyes has very exotic designs. He might be best to do Iconian ships. The sketch above looks like an early Romulan warp ship actually. I think one of the ST magazines had iconion ships a year ago. the recent mag did the humanoids, but another mag moons ago had the ships from a game or something.

I'm envisioning a ship that projects gateways around itself as a combination of shields/weapons, sending weapons, energy blasts, and attacking vessels off to some far-distant part of the cosmos... :D

Not necessarily though. The Atlanteans in Stargate could build gateways/Stargates but could not open them without constructing the gates themselves which create the wormholes.

I envision the Iconians being able to build the Gateways on planets for people to traverse from planet to planet but I suspect that they still would have had ships that used some kind of warp/transwarp drive.

Also any enemies of the Iconians may have effective countermeasures to the gateways top prevent lock on.

Or rather, any enemies of the Iconians orbitally bombarded the shit out of their homeworld... which was established onscren. You don't need countermeasures when you can crush your enemy.

I sincerely doubt the Iconians had any sort of meaningful presence in space... certainly not enough to fend off their technologically inferior rivals.

Which was my thinking in using a ringship. Once the Iconians had perfected their gateways, the need for ships would be diminished, perhaps resulting in stagnated space technology.

I once wrote an idea up about a Trek series around the Iconians. My idea was the Iconians got into a major war with an alien entity which invaded the Galaxy. The entity was none corporeal and existed in space feeding on Stars and grew larger with each star consumed.

The Iconians in my series idea had to battle the entity to defend the Galaxy.

The Iconians however were very arrogant and treated other species with disrespect. When the Iconians eventually defeated the entity they were badly weakened and many of their colonies throughout the Galaxy were destroyed and most Iconians returned to Iconia.
All the other races decided that their weakened state was an opportunity to attack. They amassed a massive fleet and attacked the Iconian Homeworld.

So you see, there are a multitude of ways to explain why the Iconians had ships, why other races hated them and how they were eventually destroyed.

It's explicitly stated the other races hated them for their tech. Thus, I can plug this into the Keep It Simple Stupid method and arrive at the conclusion... that the simplest possible thing happened.

It's explicitly stated the other races hated them for their tech.

and yet there's no reason why that can't be the case in my own fan fiction idea. The other races united together in the end to defeat the Iconians when they were at their weakest. They attacked because they hated them for their tech and the arrogance the Iconians had because of it.
You've also got to find a way around the fact that they were defeated by the bombardment of Iconia yet they could traverse the Galaxy in the blink of an eye. There must have been some reason why all the Iconians returned to Iconia. The other races were envious of their technology so they did not have the same abilities to traverse the Galaxy.

I'm giving a reason why the Iconians had ships and pointing out that there are any number of ways to give reason why they did. That is all.
