Legendary's Godzilla 2 & beyond - News & Rumors

Hang on, I'll figure this out; Anguirus is definitely the pawn, the massive and solid Mechagodzilla would be the rook, Rodan is the knight, King Sheesar with his roots in Okinawan religion is probably the bishop, and Mothra is the queen.

While over on Kong's side, there's the slow-moving Giant Octopus, probably a pawn, the Mechani-Kong is the rook, Gorosaurus would be the knight, the Elasmosaurus is the bishop, leaving the Giant Spider as the queen.

I dunno, I feel the pawns should be JSDF tanks and jets. They're the expendable ones, after all.

As for the second queen, other female kaiju include Biollante and Megaguirus -- plus there were a male and female Rodan in the original film, but you'd probably want those as the two knights.

How is Kumonga (Giant Spider) related to Kong? It only appeared in Son of Godzilla, Destroy All Monsters, and Final Wars.

Sorry, I wasn't specific enough. I didn't mean Kumonga, but the Giant Spider from the lost scene from the original King Kong.

What about Jet Jaguar? The whole theory falls apart without Jet Jaguar... :wah::wah:

Oh, I thought we were sticking to Toho's canon. If American Kong films are included, then how about Lady Kong from 1986's King Kong Lives?

Well, ... this is embarrassing. Of course, she'd be the perfect queen.

Okay, yeah, let's exchange Rodan for Jet Jaguar. He'd make a far better knight.
