Don't know if this has been posted or not, but as the title says, Legendary Pictures is developing movies and shows based on the comic book Black Hammer. Black Hammer, for those who don't know, is the story of a group of people living on a farm in a small town. Turns out they're all superheros and they have no idea how they got here, only that they can't leave. And they've been here for ten years or so. It's a great book, a great character piece that both embraces superheros and all the wild and crazy shit that goes with them, but also deconstructs them. There's a somber, bittersweet tone to the Twilight Zone like setting.
In addition to the Black Hammer title, they've expanded it's universe with three mini-series focused on characters not trapped on the farm. The first features a Lex Luthor like mad scientist, the second an homage to James Robinson's Starman, the third a group that's basically the Legion Of Super Heroes during the "5 years later" era. Pretty much every character is analogue, mostly of DC or Marvel characters.
Looks like the Legendary Pictures deal covers the entirety of the Black Hammer universe, not just the main book. The art has an indie comic look to it, so it'll be weird to see these characters look "real".
At any rate, any fans of Black Hammer out there? And how do you feel about this news?
