Spoilers Legacy character announced for SNW

The smart thing is to control all leaks.
Uh-huh.

Pitch strikes and don't give 'em anything good to hit. That's just smart baseball. It's also nonsense in the real world, like your statement.
I said smart. Didn't say possible.
So, if you can't prevent the impossible, you're not smart?

Seriously, fireproof, do you have a post quota you have to fill with these gems of wisdom or something?

I'm curious to see how they handle his character compared to the Abrams movies.

Yeah, I think how the character is interpreted is at least as interesting, and probably more interesting, than how this squares with a continuity that's been wobbly from Day One. Which is not to say I don't care about continuity, but only really as much as it effects the storytelling.

Anyway, I'm not a huge Kirk guy, but he does seem like a really fun character to inhabit, so I'm rooting to Vampire Man to have some fun with it. Hopefully we will, too.

Hopefully they’ll treat him like an actual Starfleet officer instead of the half-assed writing that turned him from wiseass teenage tearaway dropout to starship captain overnight. You know, like a character with some depth and capabilities; charisma for sure but also someone who’s more than just competent and deserves to be the high-flying rising star of the Starfleet officer corps.

This isn't the Kelvin films where he lacked his father's influence that made him what he became in the Prime Universe.

This is a huge one!

Kirk wouldn’t be 18, he would be 26 or 27.

He’d be 27 in 2260, which is likely when season 2 will take place, if it’s a year after season 1’s 2259, which published production materials associated with the costumes have indicated. If season 2 is also 2259, he’s 26.

And he’s not George Kirk, they announced he’s playing Jim, that’s not speculation.

i was hoping this would be the time for lesser known Tos characters to shine, but here comes captain kirk......

Lesser known characters in TOS are lesser known because they are lesser. No one cares.

You said "George or Kirk's brother." I assume that George is Kirk's father? George Samuel Kirk the father was never a character on TOS.

This is evasive and nonresponsive.

If you're going to keep up with posting contradiction for its own sake, at least try to stand behind those absolute statements without hedging so much.
Here's my view. I hate leaks, period. Is it possible to screen them all? No, sadly it is not. Do I want that to be so? Yes, I do. And I have seen some production companies get better and have praised them for their efforts. The minimal leaks for SNW was a highlight for me of the production.

Then this news happens, and it is disappointing. I think it shows a failure to control their production and the leaks. I think it is smart to attempt to control news rather than reacting to news. But, it is not always possible, because, as you say, this is the real world.

That's my view.
