Left 4 Dead

I dunno ... seems awfully cheap. When I go fast, it spawns a tank for us to slam into and die. When I go slow, it spawns a horde every time we take a breather. I don't mind a challenge, but it's getting a little ridiculous. Any hints or tips I haven't tried?

Look at the appropriate sections on the Left 4 Dead wiki.

It is cheap, but when you play on Expert the director is not on your side. It's there to make sure you die. Hence why Witches will kill you with one hit and one strike from a zombie does 20 points of damage.

^Yeah, as I said, the survivor AI is somewhat limited here. You need to have the whole team using whatever they can get their hands on in the way of explosives, healing each other, sharing pills and first aid kits, covering each others backs etc.

Yeah, that's kick the door open and find what you can territory. Every pipe bomb helps at that level.

That's too bad. I'm really just playing on Expert for the achievements (I prefer normal difficulty for a fun, easy romp). Most of my friends hate the game, so finding decent people to team with is a daunting task. And the fact most of the online crowd is filled with idiots these days really hammers the single player point home.

^Well there's your problem, as Jamie Hyneman would say. Stop playing games for achievements. The only thing you should be looking to achieve is having fun.

The biggest problem in Versus games is splitting up the Survivor team. The Smoker is supposed to do that but this will make it a bit easier.

And boy they are bitching up a storm over on the Valve forums.

"Is that it?"
"Its too short!"
"There are too many weapons!"
"Valve sucks!"

I watched a live stream of some XBox matches early this morning. Looks pretty good.

I played through it once and enjoyed it OK. I do agree that it was too short and was probably just there to mitigate the L4D2 fallout though.
