Leeta!

Quite a lovely young woman, I must say. :)

(I know, I know: "Aw, shucks, Rush, that's the understatement of the century!")

Okay, folks--remember, the lovely Miss Masterson is, in fact, a contributing member of the BBS. Let me be a quasi-mod for a moment (I sincerely hope they don't mind) and say: keep your..."compliments"...clean!

Don't get me wrong: we should do that anyway. Just remember...she could well be reading what you post.

No sexism. She's a lady. Treat her accordingly.

And finally...I am most embarrased that we have to be reminded of this. (I use "we", of course, as a rhetorical tactic--I, of course, have never engaged in such chauvinism....)

Now...on the note that she may be reading these posts, I actually have a question for her:

Miss Masterson, I undestand that, at one point at least, you had had a talk show called "Geek Chick" in the works. Out of curiosity...whatever became of that project? :)

Thanks, guys! I appreciate all this...it's really nice to hear. And I just went to the TrekCore page -- I didn't know about it -- WOW, that really takes me back! Memories...

In answer to your question, Rush, "Geek Chic" was to be the name of the show -- I put the word out for awhile on it -- but I didn't really push for it, and it didn't get picked up. TechTV and other modes of distrib had shows like it, and while I like hosting & producing, it's definitely not my main focus.

Since those days -- when I announced projects that were in development -- I've learned to keep progress on potential projects as quiet as possible, until I'm sure they're going to get made. That said, there are projects that word gets leaked out on, before they're actually in production -- so don't believe everything you hear! =)

It generally takes a long time to get a project made; that doesn't mean it may not eventually see the light of day -- but it doesn't mean it will!

Thanks for staying tuned in...all the new stuff I do will definitely be announced on http://www.facebook.com/chasemastersonpage and on http://twitter.com/ChaseMasterson --

Hope to see you there!

XO,
Chase

Wow. Shame, that. I'm profoundly certain many a fan would have loved to have seen that. :(

Ah, well. Glad to have you here, Miss Masterson. :)

OMG it's Chase Masterson! LEETA! *runs out of thread squealing like the nerdy trek fangirl she is*

Guys, guys, it's LEETA! And she doesn't even think I'm a crazy weird fan (yet...)!

It must be strange being on a show and being able to actually look back on it...I can't look back at points in my life because there was no documentation and yet many in the entertainment industry have things preserved in "stone". It must be fun and very emotional looking back.

I kinda wish some how you could be involved in future Trek...I mean Brent Spiner, Marina Sirtis & Jonathan Frakes got to be on ENT and I wish many of my favs like yourself and Jeri Ryan could be maybe involved in JJ's Trek. I will move along now.

Move along home, Jetfire! Sorry, I just watched that episode again earlier. It gets. Lodged. In. Your. Head. Like. This.

At any rate, I couldn't resist the opportunity to give thanks to the talented Chase Masterson for her irreverent portrayal of Leeta. I can't wait 'til she gets introduced in my current rewatch. Oh, so many things to look forward to, going through the series for the first time in so long like so.

Who let this go to page two so fast? ;)

Leeta was one of my favourite DS9 characters. Her appearances always brought a smile to my face, and nature was unforgettable.

She was also the most attractive Bajoran woman I remember seeing. I hated the way Bajorans were designed, but her appearance made me realize that it could actually look good on the right person, the nose creases and the earring actually looked charming for the first time.

Not to mention that they made Leeta fall in love with an unattractive and timid Ferengi I could relate with.

This one is my favourite:

as they say, love is blind.

Whenever Leeta or Rom appeared on screen (separate or together) it just made me smile. Chase's performance as Leeta was brilliant, she's a great comedic actress.

Aye, it speaks to the quality of the show. What other TV series has folks gushing over how awesome the minor recurring characters were 10 years after its been canceled?

And Leeta was most definitely the awesome :p

I totally forgot about her. She was brought in late, but did well I thought. Nice to have another female character in the stories. Although I am a Nana Visitor fan, Chase was great too.

I don't know what Chase Materson is really like as I have only ever seen her in DS9. However I always think she has a Marilyn Monroe quality about her personality.
