Leaving Netflix(US).

According to Netflix both the new series and what there is of the Classic series are being removed on February 1st.

I'll have to make sure and watch all of the Classic Who I can there before that happens. :(

ETA: Actually, this is turning out to be a non-issue for me. According to this guide for Dr. Who's online streaming availability, the only episodes Netflix has that Amazon Prime doesn't are The Green Death and The Androids of Tara. I've seen Tara already, so it's just Green Death that I have to watch.

Of course, everything that's available on both Netflix and Amazon and a whole lot more is available at Hulu Plus as well, but Netflix and Amazon are commercial free.

There have been times in the past when shows were scheduled to leave Netflix but stayed once new contracts were worked out so I'm hoping that is what happens here. the weird thing is that they just added series 7 of the New show a few months ago.

This is not about our personal excesses of gluttony being denied boys.

It's about our collective gluttony being insufficient to turn a profit.

Doctor Who is dying, and if it continues unabated to die, at some point it will be all dead and they will stop making new episodes again.

Meh. I have most of Classic Who on DVD and have no interest in rewatching nuWho.

For a while, logging in to Netflix on my SmartTV would give me the message Doctor Who was leaving. Logging in online said no such thing. Friends who logged in online also didn't get any message about that.

Talking with Netflix, it appeared to be some glitch, and it was fixed after a while.

This is Netflix Netherlands though, not sure if the software is any different for some reason.

So perhaps that's it?

This happened last year, too; all it means is that Netflix and the BBC haven't agreed on their next contract extension. They didn't get it worked out until like January 29th last year.
