Least discussed episode

Cloud Minders isn’t bad in my opinion. I quite enjoyed Jeff Corey’s overacting and the odd relationship between Spock and Droxine.

Teaser: Elements of "The Cloud Minders" figure into my next Trek book, due out this summer.

Ugghh Hope yo're skipping the Spock/Droxine thing which I hate hate hate.
Just joking. I'm sure whatever you do it'll be great.

NOOOOOooooo. I hate the Cloud Minders.
Couldn't agree more.

Ughh hate the Spock/Droxine thing. So awful. Yuk.
Aside from that, the episode is OK.
But can't look past the Spock/Droxine thing.

Does anyone talk about The Alternative Factor? Its sort of a meh episode for me. I dont even think it made a lot of sense to me and Lazarus is just an odd character.

Yeah. Does anyone here (I know you're relatively new, so just kidding as to you ;)) actually READ the posted threads? There has been a lot of discussion of TAF lately, including an awesome breakdown of all the things wrong with Cash Markman's book discussing its production.

Oh really? I didnt notice. I’ll have to check it out. The only redeeming thing i liked was how the Parallel Lazarus was.

I'm forgetting his poster name here because he also has an excellent blog/webpage I read, but I think it's "alchemist." (Someone will come along and correct me as needed.) Search for that - it's a long but absolutely delicious read - or maybe the episode title. I don't know how long the discussion lasted, but the thread itself probably started about six to eight months ago.

Mudd's Women. I know it has Mudd, but it's pretty mediocre and I don't hear it discussed much.

I'm trying to think of an episode that added nothing to the canon, no great lines, nothing. But it's tough.

Return to Tomorrow... but that has the "Risk is our Business" speech and Diana Muldaur's first appearance.

Mark of Gideon? Requiem for Methuselah? Cloud Minders is definitely up there.

Did someone mention Vanna? :luvlove:
JB

Yeah, she turns some letter panels on a big board. Oh, wait, wrong show. :cardie:

I'd reckon "Bread and Circuses" isn't talked about too much. It's another parallel Earth episode so they can borrow from the cost-cutting wardrobe - Roman era this time but combined with 4th wall revealing stage sets, in the latter half of season two, tragic ending, has a hopeful message at the end, but all the elements are so "meh" apparently. It's definitely on the list of "not discussed as much as other episodes". At least it's not a hated episode - which "Alternative Factor" seems to be on, despite a couple bits and pieces that were largely great for the time. (And that one's in season one, when they're finding their stride.)

Bread And Circuses is one of my favourites from the second season! And it doesn't get much acknowledgement on here that is true, Cutie! I've always wondered why the rebels were hiding in the caves? Surely the Empire could root out a few ex-slaves and crush their paltry threat?I mean how far from Rome were these guys as it didn't take the guards long to capture Kirk and co. even if they meant to be caught so he could find out if Merikus was Captain Merik?

Going back to "A Piece Of The Action"
I know its a comedy ffs, everybody does, let's say it's an extremely bad comedy
But they weren't in the business of writing comedy, they were paid to write and produce intelligent Sci Fi
In my opinion, they insulted our intelligence with this one.
There are other bad episodes that at least tried to be serious, "Patterns Of Force", "The Alternative Factor" for example, and then there's "The Trouble With Tribbles", a comedic episode that works on a bizarre level.
But Space Gangsters was just a million shades of ridiculous.
