I've always used TWOK and TSFS. And it's what I've seen most other people use. I'm not abbreviating them WOK and SFS.

Four letter abbreviations are perfectly fine, not sure why a three letter-maximum is mandatory. Any series whose title requires five, however, it's getting a bit silly at that point.

Also, "SFS" would be great at word association parties, as trying to pronounce it would get 60% of the people in the room to instantly equate it as "syphilis", which 90% of the participants would probably get later that night...

Then again I highly doubt that they're going to plaster "LDS" all over everything. Not sure why they'd stick on an extra letter unless the current regime is sticking with three letter ones regardless. To be honest I doubt most people use many of these "abbreviations" anyway. The last show where it may any real sense was Deep Space Nine (DS9). Since then they've mostly gone for one or two word titles that are generally memorable and short enough anyway.

Sheesh, I'm still recovering. Watching the Comic-Con@Home trailer this morning, with Michelle Yeoh reciting her cringey “Make Leland scream” line, brought back a lot of forgotten memories. Yet still, with Discovery seasons one and two I was at least so invested as to take part in these kind of discussions in the first place. With Picard I somehow never got hooked properly. I mean, I watched it all, but I never felt like discussing it all that much. This Lower Decks thing gives me another opportunity to dive in with you guys and I'm really looking forward to it.

There's an article on EAS about Star Trek titles and abbreviations. Like many, the author understood Van Citters' joke on Twitter as “official policy” and claims that LDS is used on startrek.com. A cursory search hasn't brought that up on the official site, though. I'm still not convinced this was anything more than a joke on Twitter.
