As official as VGR.

I had to look this one up... at least it's supposed to be "adult" comedy. With a name like "Lower Decks" it had better be.
I see the initials and my first thought is what is it with CBS and drugs. In the words of South Park, Drugs are bad, mmm'kay.
Then if you go with the ENT, PIC or VOY "first three letters" mindset, it has to be LOW. With the TOS, TAS, DS9 "initials" idea it has to be LD. Discovery is still being argued, DIS is the first three letters but DSC doesn't stick with either theme.
TWOK and TSFS go with four initials and the other movies use three initials except GEN, INS and NEM. FC goes with two initials.
There's no single theme, but FC is a two letter precedent.
It always fascinates me that abbreviations are these almost controversial subjects for some.
It's so rare that I feel obligated to abbreviate any of the shows' titles. The Next Generation might be the only show which I abbreviate with some regularity. The others, though, are so short that I rather type them out fully.

There's less arguing about abbreviations when there's an actual show running. This is a "slow news day". Once the show starts, we'll find tons of other minutiae to argue about, like "why are there no Jefferies Tubes running down to the nacelles?"

Despite the fact all the movies have three letter abbreviations, First Contact always got abbreviated to just FC and that's never made anyone cry. Should we start abbreviating that to something like FCT for consistency's sake?

I've always used TWOK and TSFS. And it's what I've seen most other people use. I'm not abbreviating them WOK and SFS.
