Laurentian System questions...

In the movie we hear a couple times that the "primary fleet" is engaged in the Laurentian System. I haven't read the book.. do we know what's going on there? I am assuming its pretty major since most of the fleet is there.. maybe something we will see in the next film??

And I am guessing that "Laurentian System" is a homage to William Shatner?

On his IMDB profile:

"Worked as a camp counselor, as a teen, at Camp B'nai Brith in the Laurentian Mountains in Quebec."

Book doesn't pretty much follows the movie. No additional details about the Laurentian system. As pointed out in other threads maybe they'll address this in the sequel.

In earlier threads, that is what I thought -- that it was a nod to the great contributions of Canadian actors, such as Shatner and Greenwood, and the many great Canadian fans. I'd like to see more such.

People have already discussed this. Lots.

Try looking here or here.

Hope you find the answers you're looking for there - I know I didn't :-p
