latest DVD purchases

Hellraiser 20th Anniversary Edition
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Invader Zim: The Complete Series

Cowboy Bebop
Slayers: The complete first series

Both on R1 import (the former is extremely overpriced in the UK, while the latter has yet to see a R2 release). Both yet to arrive through the letterbox

Gunslinger Girl

Just finished watching this over three nights and it has just left me speechless. Wonderful story, great setting (they've really captured the beauty of Italy) and a host of absorbing characters. The various Fratillo pairings were fascinating to watch and it was interesting to see the contrast in how each Handler treated his cyborg and how this affected them. One of the best anime I've seen for a long time. Hoping the second series maintains this level of quality

Chinatown

Classic. My first time seeing it and I can see why it is so highly revered among both writers and critics

I just bought The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys. It didn't affect me as much as the first time I saw it, but it's still a great film.

Let's see...between the wife and I...

Elizabeth
The Queen
Family Guy - Blue Harvest
Stargate - Ark of Truth
Destiny of the Daleks
Muppet Show season 2

Waiting for Jekyll and BSG s3 to arrive next week from Amazon

I'm sure there's more since my last post in this thread but Primeval series 2, and Hogfather 2 disc edition are my latest.

I was going to buy ID4 on Blu-Ray, but unfortunately it's only the theatrical version (as is usual with me, I prefer the special edition).

Purchased the Buffy Chosen collection for $100 at Amazon. Got it a couple of days ago and I'm enjoying it to so much. Best DVD i've ever bought.

Like some others in this thread, Battlestar Galactica Season 3. And yes, I am enjoying it quite a bit--many, many cool deleted scenes are included with almost every episode, and some of the David Eick video blogs are pretty hilarious.

:techman:
