When the doctors deleted memories are first restored by seven, we see Paris helping to treat the dying ensign.

Given that it's stated earlier to have occurred before seven joined the crew..in universe, where was Kes?

Why would Paris be helping the Doc when Kes is still on the ship at that time?

Yeah, it would have made more sense if Paris wasn't helping the Doctor.
That way I could think "yeah, Kes must have been on an away mission" (although not likely at all) but seeing Paris there is just dumb.
But Voyager's strength was never its continuity!

Yeah continuity error. Considering how much I hated "Fury" this would've been a better episode/opportunity to have Jennifer Lien back on the show for an ep.

I hated "Fury" too, until someone pointed out to me that Kes was meant to be senile. I still think they could have done the episode a lot better (as in, done something TOTALLY different), but having seen a loved one robbed of their faculties, and knowing what the writers were trying to do (even if the message got lost in the shuffle somewhere), I can't really hate it.

As for the OP, yeah, it should have been Kes. It's not as bad a botch as vegetarian Chakotay suddenly eating meat:p.

That would have given the surprise away, though - clued us in that the Doctor was experiencing memories rather than hallucinations or etc.
