This is based on a rough sketch by a board-member in another forum (FASA Based Forum), who goes by the handle of Rabid. I liked his rough shape and drew this up:

It's a nice combination of the battlecruiser and bird-of-prey from TOS, with hints of the D'deridex Warbird as well, and makes sense as a design progression for the Empire.
