Last time you went on a picnic?

For me, it was Christmas Day picnic at the beach with No2 and No3 sons and my two best friends.

Occasionally myself and my friends go to to Richmond (about 25 km from Hobart) for a picnic. We have our picnic on the banks of the river close to Australia's oldest bridge. We are usually harassed by a couple of dozen ducks while we are eating.

We also occasionally go to the Hobart Botanical Gardens for a picnic.

I think it would be last summer, sometime in August, probably. There is a lovely river by a forest and old bridge on Dartmoor. The wild ponies roam through the forest and it's just lovely. The weather was really hot and we went paddling in the river (which was not really hot!) We were with our neice, who had her head stuck in a book, which is par for the course for teenagers, I suppose. Then she went paddling with my husband, and it was like she was 10 again!

Never. :(

Really really really wish I could go to Ravinia this year and do the picnic thing, but the last time I sat in some grass for 30 minutes I nearly ended up in the hospital.

I cannot even remember the last time, although i know i did do it at least once.

For you single guys, a picnic makes a really really nice date if you plan it well. Just a thought if you have a date coming up and don't know what to do with the girl.

I'm going to guess wildly and say I was probably in middle school the last time I went on a real picnic. I go to cookouts in the summer, which might count... the last one of those was probably two years ago Labor Day, though.

I only wish that were true.

Long time...8-9 years. I was with this Lady, I made little sandwiches and had really good champagne we went to the park and sat and talked I gave her a dozen roses...she of course acted like this was no big deal and it was something that should happen every day.

I went when I was like 10 or something with my first ever girlfriend. We saw a man walking a big dog and we got scared and went home.

Couldn't you go to a place that has picnic tables?

I am surprised to find out that few of you do the picnic on a regular basis. I don't think that a year has gone by in my entire life that I haven't been on at least one picnic.

The biggest picnic I ever went on was on a picnic train to Mt Field National park. I went with my sons, a friend and her twin daughters. We don't have regular passenger trains in Tasmania so this was a great treat for my children. There must have been at least 400-500 people on the train.

Umm... I went on a picnic with a friend last August a couple times and my mom at a beach in CT in March I think.

Sometime last year. My girlfriend and I went to a park on the beach to see a performance of As You Like It put on by Shakespeare by the Sea. We bought some El Pollo Loco and had a picnic on the grass before the performance. The play was so-so but the picnic is a really nice memory.:)

Yesterday I took my 2nd grade class on a picnic. It was perfect -- 79 degrees with a breeze, sunny, Prospect Park was beautiful as ever. The kids were really, really into their work; we're studying birds and they were all running around with their bird guides, making notes and drawing pictures. They were running and playing in the grass and trees, which something kids from BedStuy don't get to do often. I sat in the sun chatting with the chaperons; every once in a while Christopher or Kamma or one of the others who was especially enraptured by the birds would run up and tell me what he spotted. My feet got sunburnt, and I marveled at how lucky I am to do what I do for a living. :)
